Abstract: The preparation of environmental impact reports leads to the development of additional reports and questionnaires for the legislative body. The historical background for environmental reports is given. The essential requirements for the report are stated. Definitions for types of reports are included. The application of the California Environmental Act to a particular project is developed. The need for additional studies and questionnaires to satisfy legislative demand is examined.
