Abstract:

The BOD and DO deficit in an oscillating flow due to a steady supply of BOD from an outfall are studied. Formulas are derived for the maximum BOD concentration and DO deficit by the method of perturbation. These results serve as the upper bounds for a tidal river during a dry season.
