Abstract:

The use of automatically regulated compressed air in counterpressuring hydrostatic head during submergence of caissons and buoyant marine structures is examined. Means of remote-controlling and monitoring the flooding are presented. Economics accruing from the use of the technique are stressed. The history of the use in the field is covered.
