Pneumatic Technique for Buoyant Caissonsby Frederick E. Krauss, (M.ASCE), Consulting Engr.; Cleveland, OH (deceased),
Serial Information: Journal of the Waterways, Harbors and Coastal Engineering Division, 1973, Vol. 99, Issue 1, Pg. 18-26
Document Type: Journal Paper
The use of automatically regulated compressed air in counterpressuring hydrostatic head during submergence of caissons and buoyant marine structures is examined. Means of remote-controlling and monitoring the flooding are presented. Economics accruing from the use of the technique are stressed. The history of the use in the field is covered.
