A procedure is derived for determining the flexibility matrix of a spiral beam which when inverted yields the stiffness matrix of the segment in two different member systems. Then the stiffness matrix in the member system is transformed into the global system before establishing the equilibrium equations at every joint. In order to facilitate the calculation of the flexibility coefficients and fixed-end actions due to uniform load, an appendix with graphs is presented.
