Abstract: Herein, a two degree-of-freedom mechanical vibrator is proposed which is capable of generating sufficient forces at low frequencies without requiring a change of rotating weights, and which has a frequency range which would generally eliminate the need for a second high frequency vibrator. Furthermore, the proposed vibrator could be built considerably lighter than a one degree-of-freedom mechanical vibrator.
