Abstract: In foundation analysis it is often necessary to calculate the stresses at different depths below a loaded area, such as in settlement computations of foundations on layered compressible media. Herein graphs are presented which facilitate the calculation of pressures at different depths from a single operation. These can be used for influence charts obtained from both Boussinesq's and Westergaard's solution.
