Formulation of Structural Reliabilityby James T. P. Yao,
Serial Information: Journal of the Structural Division, 1969, Vol. 95, Issue 12, Pg. 2611-2620
Document Type: Journal Paper
The reliability of a parallel and redundant structural system was formulated with the use of a modified transition probability, and the formulation was then extended to include statically indeterminate structures. This approach is believed to aid in the counting of failure paths and thus facilitate computer solutions. To substantiate this claim, a computer program for the solution of a special type of structure is also given.
