Document Type: Journal Paper

Abstract: The procedures and results of a qualitative and quantitative experimental investigation of the characteristics of surface waves generated by a model ship hull of basic form, as a function of ship speed and distance from the sailing line in deep and shallow water, are presented herein. Stereophotogrammetry was used, in addition to standard resistance-type parallel-wire gages, to measure the waves generated by the model.
