Abstract: The scope and availability of engineering assignments abroad offers a lucrative area of employment to young engineers who possess the qualities necessary for such assignment. Challenges and responsibilities of working overseas are considered. How to enter foreign service is outlined along with useful agency and association references. A discussion of what it takes to be successful in overseas work along with advantages, disadvantages, and benefits and compensation is persented.
