Inelastic Buckling and Sideway of Concrete Frames

Inelastic buckling with sidesway of long concrete columns as part of portal and box frames is considered. The theoretical analysis for the simple frames based on the moment curvature relationship is presented and programmed into Fortran IV language. Results calculated by the theoretical analysis are compared with the available test results of box frames. The reduction factors for long columns for given portal frames as calculated by the theoretical analysis are then compared with those calculated by the formulas of ACI - 63 Building Code.
