Sprayed asphalt pavements to provide water supplies by increasing precipitation runoff were constructed on soil surfaces. Results of laboratory and field tests to study penetration of asphalt materials into soils and resulting pavement strength are reported. Construction methods and field tests of pavement performance are discussed.
