A method of improving the flow efficiency of pipelines by internal, in-place sand cleaning is described. Details of the process are given including a description of equipment, operational procedure, formulas, and calculations on flow and flow efficiency. Primary consideration is given to application in the natural gas industry and the results of cleaning natural gas lines. However, other applications of the sand cleaning process to oxygen, product, and water lines are presented.
