Resonance Testing of Full-Scale Structuresby Donald E. Hudson,
Serial Information: Journal of the Engineering Mechanics Division, 1964, Vol. 90, Issue 3, Pg. 1-20
Document Type: Journal Paper
A system of synchronized counter-rotating eccentric weight vibration generators suitable for resonance testing of full-scale structures is described. A special electronically controlled amplidyne drive permits speed control to 0.1% and stable operation in structures having damping as low as 1/2% critical. The force generator units can be distributed in a structure in various phase relations to permit a separation of separate modes of vibration.
