The solution, by means of an electrical analog computer, of the differential equations governing the deformational response of columns loaded within the elastic range is explored. Specific examples are given for biaxial loaded, thin-walled columns of open cross section. Scaling technique and accuracy of results are examined. Based on the analog computer solutions, the actual stress distributions within a given member subjected to a prescribed biaxial loading can be directly determined.
