Abstract: A guide to good construction practice has been prepared by the Committee on Airfield Pavement. The steps involved in rigid pavement construction are analyzed, and the importance of each operation is emphasized, as well as the importance of the various steps with respect to each other. Areas in which special care and timing are required in the handling of materials and operation of equipment are indicated. Practices and procedures to be followed in order to obtain a finished product that conforms to the details of the plans and specifications are presented. A check list is included as an aid to field control and inspection.
