Abstract: A method for the analysis of frames, by use of moment coefficients, is presented. This method is ideally suited for the solution of structures that would normally give convergence difficulties with the standard moment distribution procedure. The moment coefficients can be found conveniently by a modified moment distribution procedure. With these coefficients, the end moment in any member subjected to any loading condition can be determined in one operation that takes sidesway into account, thus eliminating the need for the solution of a set of simultaneous equations or the use of iterative procedures. The calculation for the final moment can be carried out by the following matrix operation: {Mi} = {Fi} + [mij] {Uj}.
