Abstract: Principle of minimum total potential energy is applied to analysis of folded plate structures; method of analysis is developed in detail for case of folded plates simply supported at ends and subjected to longitudinally symmetrical loadings; strain-energy expressions are developed both for stress resultants ordinarily considered (longitudinal direct stresses and transverse slab moments) and also for other remaining stress resultants; example presented.
