Theoretical scale factors for simulating drifting snow in wind tunnel are derived by using equation of vertical transport and threshold characteristics; it is shown that scale factors derived from equation of motion of particles can be substituted for scale factor obtained from vertical-transport equation which involves mass transfer coefficients that cannot be readily solved; simulation of change in elevation of snow surface during long period of time is examined.
