Tests described include measurements made on steel in order to obtain bending moment in sheet piling and stresses in anchor tie rods; measurements were also made using observation wells to determine relationship between Lake Erie water levels and ground-water levels behind bulkhead both for design purposes and as indication of effectiveness of bulkhead drainage features.
