Abstract:

Investigation of effects of development of small sink holes, excavation for temporary repairs, erosion by groundwater, or compaction resulting from vibrations on local subsidence beneath foundation structures; results of study for beams and slabs that span gaps in elastic subgrade; in order to simplify computations, curves have been prepared that may be used for design.
