Abstract:

Problems of overall survey for bridge, having length of some 24 mi over open water; control measures used prior to construction consisted of various forms of triangulation; alignment and stationing during construction were attained through use of towers, repetitive measurements, ingeniously designed templates, and other adjustable positioning devices.
