Abstract: Legal aspects of sedimentation, of interest to the engineer, geologist, and soil scientist, are presented. The paper concerns rights in land, as deposited sediment and rights to water, as containing or transporting sediment. It also contains the rights to be free from undue damage caused by artificial changes in the movement and effects of water, involving sedimentation as a process.
