Abstract: Development of Arkansas River for navigation purposes from Mississippi River to vicinity of Tulsa, Okla; locks and dams must be utilized to obtain navigable depths; large reservoirs now under construction will retain large part of sediment load; entire project, which includes flood control and power generation of 324 Mw is estimated to cost $1,201,000,-000; final plan provides eight dams and locks.
