The Builder of the Newport (Rhode Island) Towerby Edward Adams Richardson,
Serial Information: Journal of the Surveying and Mapping Division, 1960, Vol. 86, Issue 1, Pg. 73-96
Document Type: Journal Paper
The Newport Tower, of archaeological interest, is investigated with regard to structural design and to determine possible reasons for the window and fireplace arrangement. The design proves adequate, by modern standards, for a particular church structure, while the windows and fireplace form a sophisticated signalling and ship guidance system characteristic of the 14th century.
