Abstract: Even in humid areas, all sections experience droughts, and supplemental irrigation may be used to advantage, if economically feasible and if water supply is available; irrigation, without adequate drainage, may be detriment rather than aid; tables summarize data obtained from evaporation stations throughout United States; need for supplemental irrigation and drainage is discussed.
