Abstract: In connection with study of transport of radioactive particulate contaminants by water sheets, rapid measurements of depth of water sheet flowing on plane surface became necessary; development of water film thickness gage using electrical capacitance between fixed metal plate and water surface to sense air gap and, by use of differences, measure water depth; dynamic range of instrument was 0. 130 in. with accuracy of plus or minus 0.003 in.
