by R.N. Bergstrom,

Serial Information: Journal of the Structural Division, 1959, Vol. 85, Issue 2, Pg. 71-80

Document Type: Journal Paper

Review of use of overload factors in establishing design stresses for reinforced and prestressed concrete structures and for steel transmission towers; it compares this with results of conventional design stress assumptions and finds overload factors create much higher safety factor than would normally be expected.
