Abstract:

Rational interaction equations for failure of plain concrete developed on basis of Mohr's failure theory; strength of concrete in direct compression and in direct tension must be known; latter determined from modulus of rupture; calculation of shear strength without and with web reinforcement; tests cited show satisfactory agreement.
