Design principles for pipe manufactured without use of steel cylinder membrane; design principles for cylinder and noncylinder pipes are very much the same, criterion being that concrete in pipe wall shall not be subjected to stresses which exceed safe values when pipes are in service; economic aspects in selection of diameter of prestressed concrete pipes.
