Abstract: Planning of aqueduct of Feather River Project, Calif, had to consider large areas within San Joaquin Valley subject to two types of land subsidence; team studied nature of subsidence, delimited susceptible areas and selected most favorable route, location and aqueduct design; methods which team developed; potential subsiding lands aggregate over 2000 sq mi.
