Abstract: The engineering college can be a major influence on the end product of the engineer it turns out for the construction industry. The man need not necessarily be a scholar, but he must understand the basic things and the language and know practicalities. He also must understand the humanities and must have some practical working knowledge of the tools at hand for him. This can be obtained in the colleges and by working in the field between times.
