Abstract: Laboratory study at University of Iowa has confirmed that diffuser media can be clogged externally by specific materials in tank liquor, and internally by particulate matter in air supply; commonly accepted standard for air quality of 0.5 mg/1000 cu ft is shown to be unsatisfactory under certain conditions; new standard of 0.1 mg/ 1000 cu ft is proposed.
