Complexity of computations associated with solutions which have followed form of establishing equilibrium equations, where stresses result from weight of material lying above assumed rupture surface and resisting forces are those of Coulomb's law; new simplified solution based on assumption that circular rupture arc passes through toe of slope and at edge of crown.
