Digital Computers Applied To Pipeline Designby H.E. Thomas,
Serial Information: Journal of the Pipeline Division, 1958, Vol. 84, Issue 1, Pg. 1-8
Document Type: Journal Paper
Computer discussed differs primarily from other types in characteristics of its storage facility; storage is magnetic drum cylinder with sheet of magnetic material wrapped around its surface; when drum is made to revolve, bits of information in form of current pulses can be recorded as magnetic spots in surface of drum; only application of computer to design of gas transmission line is considered.
