Abstract: Better transportation service is an urgent need of the American community. Cities must achieve a rational balance between essential modes of transportation, and the modern urban complex demands an areawide approach to the problem. Moreover, transportation planning must be more closely integrated with the broad economic, sociological and political factors involved in city and regional planning.
