Abstract:

Straight forward reinforcement design procedure for continuously reinforced concrete highway pavements; upon selection of maximum permissible crack width, section of slab between cracks is analyzed to satisfy static equilibrium, under assumption that slab length does not change; formulas for necessary crack spacing and optimum steel area and perimeter.
