Effect of Initial Eccentricities in Column Performance and Capacityby J.M. Hayes,

Document Type: Journal Paper
Abstract: Section investigated was rolled H-section fabricated from ASTM A7 structural steel; eccentricity was created by milling out-of-square about weak axis bearing ends at partially riveted splice; capacity of column may be considered equal to that of identical unspliced column, provided that Euler critical is greater than yield point strength of material, and ends of column are partially restrained.
