Abstract: Study, involving 36 basins, shows that rainfall need not be from problem basin and that data from one precipitation network can be used to synthesize streamflow data for number of basins; transposition of rainfall data and rainfall-runoff relations makes it possible to extend streamflow record of basins not having rainfall data, and greatly reduces cost of synthesizing streamflow data.
