A theoretical study of biaxially loaded thin-walled beams of open section with and without torsion has been presented. Theoretical analysis includes approximate elastic and inelastic solutions to the governing differential equations and a specific closed-form elastic solution. It is shown that the semianalytic approach for the solution is one of the most efficient ones. Numerical examples for mild steel beams with indeterminate boundary are also given.
