Abstract: This paper describes the development of expressions for stresses in and deflection of a two-layered T-beam bonded with an elastomeric adhesive. The beam is simply supported and subjected to a uniformly distributed load. Two flange conditions are investigated: discontinuities at third points and at fourth points. Relationships among stresses, deflections, and glue line rigidity are developed and solutions to illustrative examples are presented.
