Abstract: Particular attention is paid to the load rating system recently developed for use in the Canadian airport system. Aircraft and pavements are assigned load ratings on a common pavement strength grouping basis so that a simple comparison may be made to determine the structural adequacy of a pavement for any given aircraft loading. The control of aircraft loadings is also considered in the context of the overall pavement management system.
