Abstract: Seismic Category I supports for electrical conduit and cable tray systems are described. Types of supports and their analysis, design, and installation are also presented. Approximate formulas for simplified models are given to greatly facilitate the design. Field conditions and other factors, important in the behavior of the supports under seismic conditions, are considered. Recommendations on the damping coefficients are made.
