The scope of this study is to find solutions to the following problems: 1) the siphon should operate smoothly without any water spill; 2) the siphon priming should be automatic, if possible, and velocity head will start the self-priming; 3) the siphon discharge is expected to exceed 8.11/s, the standard siphon discharge under subcritical flow; 4) standard type siphons should be used in supercritical flow with a simple modification; and 5) a modified siphon that can be easily installed in the canalet system.
