In the classical theory of elasticity, one of the celebrated methods for solving boundary value problems regarding an isotropic homogeneous linear elastic continuum is the method of Galerkin's vector. However, the set of governing equations to be solved is a system of N partial differential equations, N being the number of spatial dimension.
