Abstract: Laboratory studies are often useful in observing the phenomena that may occur during electo-osmotic consolidation and measuring the soil parameters that are needed for prediction of behavior in the field. An apparatus that simulates common field conditions well is considered particularly useful for the study of field problems has been developed and is the subject of this note.
